Thanks for the thoughtful response. For the reverse of complex animations, there is certainly no simple way to do it. It takes a bit of creativity and sometimes it can just be plain frustrating. PowerPoint doesn’t give you a way to do this easily.
For the UI, it’s definitely confusing — sometimes I have 300+ animations on one slide, and selecting the right animation can become a frustrating guessing game. I think this UI/UX problem is a chicken/egg problem because not many users make such complex animations, so Microsoft may not have a strong enough incentive to commit resources to make the change.
